I got banned from a community. My wife, who has the same IP address as me since we share our internet, caused me to get a 7 day ban on reddit when she posted on that community. So yeah sometimes it isn’t thought through. That doesn’t mean there are total asshats on reddit getting banned though.

Our government has pushed its tentacles. Most US Americans would rather we mind our own business and focus on improving the climate and our health and well being. There are exceptions and some real crappy US Americans. Just like the AfD or the Nationalists in France or Swiss Peoples Party or Finns or various Freedom Parties of Europe. We are not unique over here, but there are many disenfranchised voters (targeted by republican dubious laws) that were not able to exercise their right to vote and that made it seem like we are all ignorant over here. We are not. There are millions of people protesting and organizing. State news and corporate owned news outlets aren’t letting the world know.

Also, there is a LOT of variety in the US. We have over fifty dialects and arguably more. We have people that are native German speakers (with several unique dialects and daughter languages, Latinos that are native Spanish speakers (along with many dialects and daughter languages from many countries as well), Native Americans with MANY cultural and linguistic differences from Alaska to South America.

I’m running mine on a pi 0. Very slight latency difference - like 2-3ms. Totally worth it for blocking 30% of garbage on average. The decrease in time it takes to load anything more than makes up for the latency. We have over 20 devices on wifi. Both my son and I play online games and the only time I blame lag is when I suck lol.

As a middle-aged man, I agree that there are some completely shitty men (loosely) out there. A real man should be compassionate, caring, protective when wanted, supportive when needed, and should never do the absolute scum things this poor woman experienced. This is on fathers (mostly) and mothers to teach their sons what it means to be respectful to everyone around them, not just women but men as well. Fathers need to model the behavior so their sons don’t grow up to be terrible humans. It is on parents to address online safety. It’s uncomfortable to do this but really, really needed. As far as the man sex culture, I’m not sure that is a fair statement. That would be like saying a woman sex culture. From what I’ve seen in my life, you will always be proven wrong if you stereotype anything about any perceived group of people.

That makes sense. I didn’t really understand to be honest. Coming from old school mmos everything is locked down from my knowledge. I do agree that opening it up for all to see will just make it easier to exploit, but maybe good people will help find exploits faster and speed patching among?
